EDUCATORS/
INSTRUCTORS
Work-based learning moves classroom instruction into the world and can bring the world into the classroom. We connect students and educators with classroom speakers, job shadows, worksite tours, student internships, educator externships, and other strategic activities. Our work focuses on career awareness, career exploration, and workplace learning in all career clusters. These clusters include high demand areas such as STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), critical infrastructure, commercial and residential construction, advanced manufacturing, healthcare/bioscience, information technology, and other careers of interest to students and educators.

EDUCATORS-IN-THE
The Iowa Intermediary Network not only works with students to offer valuable work-based learning opportunities but also with educators. Our regional intermediary coordinators are incredible resources for educators looking for professional development and work-based learning experiences.
Educators-in-the-Workplace is a paid 40-hour professional work experience opportunity (1-week). Educators gain direct knowledge and experience on-site at an area business or industry that they can take back to their classrooms. They see first-hand what’s needed to succeed in that industry or career path.
